The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has issued a tender for the improvement and widening to two-laning with paved shoulders of National Highway 127B in Meghalaya.
The contract, valued at Rs 366.46 crore, will be executed on an EPC basis from km 0.000 to km 31.500 under the North East Road Network Connectivity Improvement Project through JICA ODA Loan Phase-VII. The scope of work covers detailed design, construction, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded highway section, along with ensuring road safety measures, drainage, and related infrastructure improvements with a comletion period of 24 months.
The contract also includes a five-year maintenance period post-completion, ensuring sustained quality and usability of the highway. The NH-127B corridor is expected to play a key role in improving access between key towns and border regions, boosting both passenger and freight movement efficiency.
