The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve the quality and reliability of temporary site testing laboratories in civil engineering projects.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The initiative aims to ensure accurate on-site material testing, thereby enhancing construction standards and fostering safer, more durable structures across India. These labs test materials like aggregates and concrete cubes directly at construction sites.
To elevate their standards, NABL has introduced a recognition scheme in test accuracy and reliability, to ensure that the materials used in construction projects are of the highest quality, strengthening the trust and safety of infrastructure development.
Temporary site testing laboratories are vital for quality assurance in civil engineering projects, particularly for large-scale constructions exceeding 50,000 sq. ft. By empowering developers with dependable testing mechanisms, the collaboration between NABL and CREDAI sets a benchmark for sustainable and resilient infrastructure development across India.
