NEPC India Ltd, a Khemka group company manufacturing wind turbine
generators, will invest Rs.1,000 crore in wind
power sector in Gujarat to generate 200 MW of power. The company has already
signed an MoU with the state government .The proposed wind farm project of the
company is proposed in Kutch, Jamnagar and Junagarh districts of Gujarat. The
project is expected to be completed in three years.
The company will shortly commence work on the new
assignments and the company is carrying out detailed surveys of various sites to
understand and gauge the potential viability of wind energy in Gujarat.
The company has taken turnkey assignments in
Gujarat which include preparing project reports, selecting potential sites,
installing HT electrical circuits and supply, assembly and commissioning of wind
turbine equipment. The company has commissioned nearly 2,500 machines across the
country generating 450 MW of power which is equivalent to 30 per cent of the
total wind based power generation of 1869 MW in the country.
Based in Tamil Nadu, the company is responsible
for setting up single largest wind farm of the country by completing the
assignment of 15 MW project of Tamilnadu Newsprint & Paper Ltd.
