National Highways Authority of India
will tie up with oil companies such as Reliance Industries, Hindustan Petroleum
Corporation and Essar to develop way-side amenities at every 100 km of national
highways.
The proposed outlets will not only
provide fuel but also food, recreational facilities, washroom, vehicle
accessories and workshops. RIL and HPCL have already initiated the process. RIL
has started one-stop facilities called A1 on Baroda-Ahmedabad express highway
and plans to expand it across the country.
NHAI has already asked the Delhi-based
School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) to formulate guidelines for putting up
such facilities.
