NTPC Green Energy and GAIL India have announced a strategic partnership to form a 50:50 joint venture for the development of renewable energy projects.
The board of NTPC Green Energy approved the joint venture agreement on 15 January, 2026, which is subject to approval from the Ministry of Power, DIPAM, and other statutory authorities. The joint venture aligns with NTPC's goal of achieving 60 GW of green energy capacity by FY32. NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a subsidiary of the state-owned NTPC, is the umbrella company for the company's green energy initiatives, focusing on both organic and inorganic growth routes.
