NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Assago Industries on 02 February, 2026, at NTPC Bhawan, New Delhi.

The MoU outlines the supply of green ammonia, carbon dioxide, renewable energy (RE) power, and other related utilities to Assago for the production of 1,000 tonnes per day (TPD) of green urea. The green urea plant is planned to be set up in the NGEL Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The agreement aims to support sustainable and eco-friendly production of urea using green energy solutions.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from NGEL, NTPC, and Assago, highlighting the collaboration between the entities for promoting green and renewable energy projects. This partnership marks a step forward in advancing India's green energy and sustainable agricultural practices.
