NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), the renewable energy division of India’s largest power producer, has reached a significant milestone by successfully adding 13.98 MW of solar power to its Khavda project in Gujarat.
This addition pushes NTPC’s total installed capacity past the crucial 8,000 MW mark, bringing the total to 8,010.28 MW. Prior to this, the Group’s capacity stood at 7,996.30 MW. The new power is part of the Khavda-I Solar PV Project, a solar farm in the Kutch region, known for its excellent sunlight. This project is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NGEL, and is part of a larger 1,255 MW solar initiative being rolled out in stages.
As NTPC continues to expand its green energy footprint, it solidifies its leadership in India’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.
