NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), the renewable arm of NTPC, has commissioned 49.1 MW in the third phase of its 300 MW Khavda solar energy project in Bhuj, Gujarat.
The company informed that the new capacity became commercially operational from midnight of 22 August, 2025, under the 450 MW hybrid tranche V project. This follows the commissioning of 142.2 MW in the first phase on June 28, and 32.8 MW in the second phase on June 30, consolidating Khavda’s status as a rapidly expanding solar hub.
The commissioning aligns with NTPC Green’s strategy to scale renewable capacity, supported by improved utilisation across operational assets. The growth reflects contributions from new renewable projects, with the Khavda additions set to further strengthen its portfolio.
