NTPC Renewable Energy is set to begin commercial electricity supply from its 130.47 MW Khavda-I solar project in Gujarat at midnight on 29 January, 2026.
This marks a significant addition to NTPC Green Energy Group's capacity, which will increase from 8,347.78 MW to 8,478.25 MW with this new supply. The Khavda-I solar project is part of a larger 1,255 MW solar initiative under the CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche III. The commercial operation of this capacity is a step forward in NTPC's renewable energy efforts, bolstering its position as a leader in India's green energy sector.
The Khavda-I project is a key component in NTPC Renewable Energy's long-term strategy to expand its solar power generation and contribute to the country's renewable energy goals.
