NTT Data plans to invest several billion dollars in India over the next two to three years, focusing on areas such as applications, BPO, data centres, and marine cables. Amir Durrani, Executive VP of Applications and Business Process Outsourcing, highlighted that NTT Data's strategy emphasised expansion for its workforce in India as well as the local market.
India is NTT Data's largest workforce outside Japan, with around 40,000 employees, and the company aims to grow its global headcount by 10 to 15 percent annually. It is central to NTT Data’s transformation strategy, serving as a key hub for scaling operations and driving growth, offering end-to-end services, from consulting to hosting and managing data centres.
By delivering a broad range of services, NTT Data benefits from scale, cost-efficiency, and innovation, and has honed these capabilities to deliver them from India. Apart from the local market, the operations will also be for Europe and North America.
