NTT Global Data Centers & Cloud Infrastructure India will be investing Rs 2,000 crore in three proposed data centres at the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub in Kolkata. The company has performed 'bhoomi puja' for the facilities on 13 February, 2023.
The three proposed data centres will have a cumulative capacity of 25 MW IT load and the first centre is expected to be on ground in the next 12 to 15 months.
The campus will come up on a 7.5-acre land spread across 6,00,000 sq ft, with the first data centre facility equipped to have a capacity of 9 MW facility load and 6 MW IT load utilising 1,00,000 sq ft of space.
NTT has a current operational load of 230 MW across 12 facilities on 2.1 million sq ft of land in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR and Chennai. Its expansion plan envisages addition of 280 MW of operational load spread over 2.5 million sq ft in the next two years in India.
NTT is looking to enhance its capability to more than 1,500 MW of critical IT load (including planned capacities) in more than 20 countries.
