Kutch Chemical Industries is setting up a caustic soda facility at Varsana village of Anjar taluka in Kachchh district of Gujarat with a capacity of 12.6 lakh tpa.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has already granted environmental clearance (EC) for the plant, spread over 74 acre of land. The work on the project was underway and the caustic soda unit is expected to commence production by May 2019.
The good news is that, according to information collected by Projects Today, completion of the project has been pre-scheduled for production in March 2019. Around 70 percent civil work on the project has been completed.
Currently, machinery erection work was underway. The Rs 1,000 crore project will generate employment opportunities for 500 persons. Kadam Environmental Consultants is environmental impact assessment (EIA) consultant and ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions India is engaged with the project as project management consultant (PMC).
