On 23 October, 2025, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a residential complex for Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Gandhinagar.
Developed by the Roads and Buildings Department, the 28,576 sq. mtrs. Complex in Sector 17 replaces the previous MLA accommodations, offering modern three-BHK units with a range of amenities. Each flat spans 170.32 sq. mtrs. and is fully furnished with two lifts per block. Key facilities include a multipurpose hall, gym, swimming pool, canteen, medical clinic, and parking for each unit. Environmental sustainability is prioritised with rainwater harvesting and 600 newly planted trees.
The complex includes 216 units, with 180 fully furnished. The Union Minister, along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, inspected the facility, marking a major upgrade from earlier MLA housing built in the 1990s.
