The new integrated terminal building of the Mangalore Airport at Kenjar is
expected to become functional in a month's time.
The Karnataka Government has laid a two-lane concrete road connecting the new
facility with the Mangalore-Bajpe-Kateel-Mulkey Road, which can be used as an
entry road and the zilla panchayat road can be used for exit. The Airports
Authority of India is laying a 400-mtrs road to connect the terminal with the
zilla panchayat road. It is slated to be completed shortly.
The new terminal building costing Rs 147 crore has been designed to handle
500 passengers at a time and five aircraft can be parked at a time in the apron.
In addition, it has facility to park 300 cars.
