Ansal API is planning to launch an affordable housing project in Agra in Uttar Pradesh under the brand name Aastha.

The proposed housing project is likely to be part of the company's upcoming 500-acre mega township project, Sushant Taj City, in Agra, at a combined investment of about Rs 1,000-1,100 crore. It is expected to have 1,600 units with sizes ranging from 560 to 920 sq ft.

In Uttar Pradesh, the company has already launched similar housing projects in Lucknow and Meerut. While the Lucknow project offered 800 units, the Meerut project had 350 units under the affordable housing category.

Besides Uttar Pradesh, the company has launched three affordable housing projects in Rajasthan - Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur - under the common brand name Abhilasha Homes. The company is likely to hand over possession of the completed units in its Jodhpur affordable housing project by end-January 2010.
