Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has earmarked Rs 600 crore
investment to venture into wind power generation.
As a part of this foray, the company is planning to take up 100 MW wind power
project in a phased manner in Gujarat. The Gujarat government has already
accorded its approval for the project.
GMDC is likely to invest Rs 120 crore in Phase I to set up wind mills having
cumulative capacity of 19.5 MW at Maliya in Rajkot. The proposed wind farm is
expected to be funded through internal accruals.
