Posco is likely to begin work on its Rs 54,000 crore project in Jagatsinghpur
in Orissa by January 2010.
The Orissa Government is working towards removing all the hurdles coming in
the way of the 12 million tpa steel plant. Lee Myung-bak, President of South
Korea, is expected to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the plant.
The company intends to kick start the ground levelling work at the site by
January 2010.
Posco entered into an agreement with the state government to set up a steel
plant five years ago but the project has been facing land acquisition problems
