ABG Infralogistics is likely to develop of Western Quay (WQ-6) berth in the
Northern Arm of inner harbour of Visakhapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh. The
Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) has already issued the LoI to the company for the
proposed project.
The company has offered to share 47.12 per cent of the revenue during the
concession period with the VPT after the company starts operations in the berth.
The 30-year concession includes 18-24 months of construction period.
The scope of work envisages planning, designing and constructing 215 m of
berth. It is required to procure and install handling equipment at the berth and
develop stacking area on about 12.2 acre.
The proposed project is estimated to cost Rs 115 crore. The berth will be
developed to handle dry bulk cargo such as coke, steel and granite blocks. The
proposed facility will enable handling of about 2.1 million tpa of the above dry
bulk cargo to start-with and about 3 million tpa ultimately, in phases.
