Delhi based Azure Power is planning to set up solar plant each in
Kolar and
Bagalkot in Karnataka. The company plans to invest Rs 225 crore for the both
the plants.
While the company has identified ten acre for 2-MW solar power project in
Kolar, the 10-MW plant in Bagalkot is to come up on 50 acre. Necessary approvals
are in place for the Kolar plant. Both plants are likely to be operationalised
in 18 months.
Azure is likely to sign PPA with the state utility companies and NTPC Vidyut
Vyapar Nigam for Kolar project in April 2010.
