Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ has announced that the long-delayed Noida International Airport project in Jewar will be completed by November 2025.
Speaking after a review meeting with officials from the Yamuna Industrial Expressway Development Authority (YIEDA),the Minister stated, “We have worked on it for eight years, and it will now be completely ready by November.” He also claimed that the airport would be “the fourth-largest in the world and the largest in Asia.”
Initially slated to open on September 29, 2024, the airport has missed multiple deadlines, including those set for April and June 30 of this year. On a two-day visit to review infrastructure projects, Nandi emphasised the improved law and order in the state under CM Yogi Adityanath, which has led to a surge in multinational investments.
The first phase, costing Rs 10,056 crore, will serve 12 million passengers annually. The airport’s full development, worth Rs 29,650 crore, is planned over four phases, with the final stage operational by 2040.
