Oil India (OIL) has commissioned a 54-MW wind turbine power plant at Dangri in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
The wind project estimated to cost Rs 360 crore has been completed within around 14 months. The 54 MW power plant comprises 27 wind turbine generator (WTG) units of 2,000 kW each. With the commissioning of this plant, OIL has 67.6 MW installed wind power capacity.
Earlier, in March OIL has commissioned a 13.6 MW wind energy project in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan with an investment of Rs 85 crore.
Meanwhile, OIL plans to commission a 5 MW solar power plant located near Ramgarh in Jaisalmer by Q3 of FY 2013. Besides, it has also commissioned its second 100 kW solar captive power plant at Jaisalmer. The first 100 kW solar plant is situated in Assam.
