Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the expanded Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) plant in Jajpur district, enhancing its crude steel production capacity from three million tonne per annum (MTPA) to eight MTPA.
The event was attended by senior government officials, local community members, and Tata Steel leadership including CEO & MD TV Narendran. The expansion marks a key milestone in Tata Steel’s commitment to building a future-ready, sustainable steel manufacturing ecosystem. With cutting-edge technology and a focus on inclusive growth, the upgraded plant aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
As one of India’s most advanced integrated steel facilities, the TSK plant will now be capable of producing high-grade steel for critical sectors such as defence, automotive, infrastructure, engineering, capital goods, oil & gas, renewable energy, and shipbuilding, reinforcing India's self-reliance and global competitiveness in steel manufacturing.
