The Odisha government is set to demolish the old Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) building to construct a new state-of-the-art Technology Business Tower at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore to Rs 200 crore. Designed to support the growth of technology-driven enterprises, the upcoming tower will offer advanced infrastructure and foster collaboration among IT, ITeS, and ESDM companies in Bhubaneswar.
The existing OCAC facility also includes a seven-storey building developed by IDCO in 2014 at a cost of Rs 46 crore, offering 1,57,206 sq ft of super built-up area. This space currently hosts various IT companies and includes incubatory support for startups.
The new tower is planned to span around 3 lakh sq ft of built-up area, accommodating both OCAC operations and IT institutions. An expression of interest (EOI) has been floated to engage a central or state PSU as the project management agency (PMA) for the construction. The PMA will handle planning, execution, and quality control.
Additionally, OCAC plans to develop seven tech parks across Odisha, including one in Keonjhar with 1.5 lakh sq ft of built-up area on a 4.56-acre plot.
