Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SunCon), a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Sunway Holdings Inc Bhd bagged a contract worth Rs.329 crore from
National Highways Authority of India for
the four-lane National Highway connectivity to International Container
Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) at Vallarpadam in Ernakulam district of Kerala.
Work on the project is scheduled for completion within 30 months.

- US-based Emerson
has received an order to digitally automate the 2x300 MW Amarkantak power
plant at Pathadi village in Korba district in Chhattisgarh. The order has been
placed by China-based Dongfang Electric Corporation,
the EPC contractor of the project. Emerson will install its PlantWeb digital
plant architecture with the Ovation expert control system at the two units,
according to the statement issued by Emerson.

Infrastructure, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pratibha Industries
has secured a contract worth Rs.80.5 crore from Asian
Healthcare Services for construction of multi-specialty hospital
building at Worli. The scope of work involves construction of a building
consisting of two-level basement, two towers of 18 and 23 stories in steel
structure, encasing steel structure in cement etc. The project is to be
executed in eighteen months.
B. Overseas Contracts

- Finnish energy technology firm
Wartsila has received an order worth 100
million euros (Rs.560 crore) from German-based
Bayernfonds BestEnergy for six turnkey biomass-fuelled power
plants. Construction work on the biomass plants is expected to start by July
2007 and is scheduled for completion by end-2008. [This news development is

Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority for supply and installation

- Dutch Engineering consultancy
Fugro NV has won a $145 million seismic
contract from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation.
The work will be executed by one of Fugro's 3D seismic vessels over two
consecutive field seasons in 2007-08 and 2008-09 with a duration of about
seven months per season.

- Welspun Gujarat Stahl
Rohren announced that it won orders worth Rs.700 crore ($170
million) for the supply of pipelines to international clients. The company's
current pending order book position stands at around Rs.4,700 crore including
orders executed in the last quarter of fiscal year 2006-07.

- Suzlon Wind Energy
Corporation, USA, the subsidiary of Suzlon Energy has signed a
contract for a total of 400 MW of wind turbine capacity with
PPM Energy of Portland, Oregon. The
delivery of the 300 MW of wind turbine capacity is expected by 2008 and 100 MW
of wind turbine capacity by 2009.
