Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has completed the interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme for integrating renewable energy from Gujarat’s Khavda RE zone.

Officially titled “Transmission network expansion for integration of RE projects from Khavda potential RE zone” and executed via SPV Powergrid Khavda RE Transmission System, the Rs 953 crore project included a 765kV double-circuit line spanning about 270 ckm from Banaskantha to Ahmedabad. Initially due in March 2025, it was completed in July 2025 after a four-month delay. Won under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) from RECPDCL, the project will yield annual transmission charges of Rs 77.327 crore.

In the same month, PGCIL commissioned a 44 ckm 400kV double-circuit line—LILO of the Agra–Jaipur line at Dausa, under Powergrid Beawar Dausa Transmission Ltd. Part of the Rs 1,910 crore Phase III, Part H Rajasthan REZ evacuation scheme, this segment will contribute to 651 ckm of lines and 3,000 MVA capacity. PGCIL acquired this project in October 2023 via TBCB.
