On 28 July, 2025, HG Infra Engineering (HGIEL) formally acquired “Angul Sundargarh Transmission” from bid process coordinator PFC Consulting, marking its debut in the inter-state transmission system – tariff-based competitive bidding (ISTS-TBCB) segment.
HGIEL secured the project with a winning annual transmission charge of Rs 431.11 million, beating Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and Tata Power. The project, part of the Eastern Region Generation Scheme-I (ERGS-I), involves setting up a LILO of both circuits of the existing 2xS/C 765kV Angul-Sundargarh lines in Odisha at the Talabira power plant switchyard of NLC India.
Estimated at Rs 413 crore, it is scheduled for completion by March 2028. HGIEL’s acquisition joins four other ISTS-TBCB awards in this financial year: Adani Energy Solutions, PGCIL, Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon, and Resonia. The award cements HGIEL’s presence in India’s competitive transmission market and positions it for future bids in the high-voltage infrastructure space.
