The 14th State Investment Board (SIPB) meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved investment proposals totalling Rs 19,391 crore for 14 projects, expected to create employment for 11,753 youth.
This brings the total investment approved by SIPB to Rs 8.74 lakh crore, which will generate employment for 8.35 lakh people. The Chief Minister commended the team for their success in attracting significant investments throughout 2025 and encouraged them to maintain the momentum in 2026. Highlighting progress in the power sector, Naidu mentioned that the state government had absorbed Rs 4,500 crore in true-up charges without passing the cost onto consumers, while reducing power tariffs by 13 paise per unit. He set a target of purchasing power at Rs 3.70 per unit by 2029.
CM Naidu also stressed the need to develop tourism, particularly beach tourism, and to establish food processing units, with a focus on enhancing facilities for farmers. He proposed the development of a space city on 5,000 acres in Makavarapalem.
