Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the civil terminal at Halwara airport in Ludhiana, marking a significant step in enhancing aviation infrastructure in Punjab.
During his visit, he also renamed the Adampur airport in honour of Guru Ravidas, on the occasion of the saint's birth anniversary. The newly renamed airport will now be called "Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport." In his speech, PM Modi expressed his pride in this tribute to Guru Ravidas, emphasizing his message of equality, compassion, and service. The Prime Minister also virtually inaugurated the terminal building at the Halwara airport, which is expected to significantly improve air connectivity in the region and spur industrial and economic growth.
The terminal, developed at a cost of Rs 54.67 crore, is part of a broader effort to modernise the region's infrastructure. "The inauguration of this terminal is a moment of immense joy for the people of Punjab, especially Ludhiana, a vital industrial hub," PM Modi said, highlighting the project’s role in bolstering the region's connectivity and socio-economic development.
