Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the new terminal building of Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, Haryana. The project, valued at over Rs 410 crore, reflects the Prime Minister’s vision to make air travel safe, affordable, and accessible for all citizens.
The new infrastructure will include a modern passenger terminal, a dedicated cargo terminal, and an air traffic control (ATC) building. The development is poised to significantly boost Haryana’s aviation landscape, facilitating both passenger and cargo operations.
Once operational, the Hisar airport will operate scheduled flights connecting to key destinations such as Ayodhya, as well as Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. This will mark a pivotal moment in transforming Hisar into a regional air travel hub and improving connectivity within northern India. Addressing the public during the foundation stone ceremony, Prime Minister Modi described the initiative as “a step toward elevating Haryana’s aspirations to new heights.”
The development aligns with the larger goals of the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme, which seeks to improve regional air connectivity and make flying a reality for the common man. Haryana’s inclusion in this network will support economic development, attract investment, and create employment opportunities in the state. By integrating cutting-edge design and functionality, the terminal is expected to meet the future demands of both domestic and regional aviation.
