The Public Works Department (PWD) is set to initiate soil investigation and geotechnical surveys for the Rs 412-crore flyover expansion project at Modi Mill and Savitri Cinema intersections on Delhi’s Outer Ring Road.
The plan seeks to double the existing one-way Savitri Cinema and Kalkaji flyovers and integrate them with a new elevated stretch from the Modi Mill flyover, forming a continuous flyover corridor in south Delhi. Officials noted that construction will commence only after statutory clearances are secured from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and other agencies.
Work is expected to take at least a year once approvals are granted. A PWD official stated, “The project proposal has been reviewed by the minister and he has asked to get all necessary permissions from all agencies before starting work."
