Petronet LNG has planned to increase
the investment outlay on developing the Dahej solid cargo port to Rs.1,000 crore
from the earlier Rs.300 crore. The envisaged port handling capacity is seen
higher at 10 million tpa as against 3 million tpa earlier.
Petronet is developing the project in
association with the Adani Group. Petronet will have a minimum holding of 50 per
cent, which will have to be maintained for seven years. The port development is
being done under a 30-year concession agreement (BOT basis) with Gujarat
Maritime Board.
The port is adjacent to Petronet's 5
million tpa LNG terminal, which is being expanded to 10 million tpa.
