Power Mech Projects has won a contract worth Rs 498.39 crore for the Buxar Thermal Power Project (BTPP) in Bihar.
Awarded by by SJVN Thermal, the contract involves commissioning support and a comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement for the coal-based supercritical thermal plant located at Chausa in Buxar district. BTPP comprises two units of 660 MW each, totaling 1,320 MW capacity.
Power Mech Projects will provide end-to-end commissioning assistance as well as long-term O&M services, ensuring the efficient functioning of the plant post-commissioning. The BTPP is a critical part of Bihar’s efforts to boost power generation capacity, reduce energy deficits, and strengthen the regional grid.
SJVN Thermal, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, is executing the project as part of the state and Central government’s broader push for enhanced energy security and infrastructure development in eastern India.
