RMC Switchgears has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from a system integrator for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 5,000 solar pumps in Maharashtra.
Valued at Rs 90 crore, the LoA includes 3HP, 5HP, and 7HP solar pump systems. The work is slated for completion in FY26.
The announcement follows RMC’s recent decision to establish a solar module manufacturing plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with an investment of Rs 100 crore. This is aimed at reducing reliance on external suppliers and catering to the growing demand for solar modules in large-scale projects such as this initiative.
Maharashtra government, under its clean energy push, has set a target of deploying 1.5 million solar pumps, with Rs 100 billion allocated to the agricultural sector. With over 1,00,000 solar pumps already installed, the state’s programme reflects immense growth potential in the sector.
