Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL), along with HFCL and Aerial Telecom Solutions, has signed a Project Implementation Agency (PIA) agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) to develop, upgrade, operate, and maintain the middle-mile network of BharatNet
The project involves a three-year construction phase, followed by a ten-year maintenance period. Maintenance fees are structured at 5.5 percent of capital expenditure annually for the first five years and 6.5 percent for the remaining five years. The initiative aims to improve high-speed internet access in rural and remote areas, aligning with the Digital India mission.
