Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) has received a letter of award (LoA) for a contract valued at Rs 145.35 crore from Southern Railway.
The scope covers design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of traction substations (Scott-connected) with power quality compensating equipment, along with associated switching posts (SP/SSP) for a 2x25 kV feeding system. The project also includes SCADA and automatic fault locator (AFL) for the Jolarpettai Junction to Salem Junction (JTJ-SA) section of the Salem Division. This work is in line with Southern Railway’s Mission 3000 MT loading target.
The contract has a duration of 18 months and involves both domestic design and implementation, focusing on enhancing the power infrastructure for railway operations. As part of the agreement, RVNL will ensure the timely completion of the substations, meeting all technical and safety specifications as per tender.
