The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport, is likely to be operational by the end of 2025. Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya Scindia, laid the foundation stone for the building at Rajahmundry Airport in Andhra Pradesh on 10 December, 2023.
The expansion of the terminal building on an additional area of 17,000 sq. mtrs. and is estimated to cost Rs 350 crore. This expansion will help to serve 2,000 passengers during peak hours and cater eight to ten flights per hour. The current terminal is spread over 4,000 sq. mtrs.
The modern terminal will have 30 check-in encounters, eight security lanes with express machines, and three aerobridges, as per Airports Authority of India (AAI).
