Reliance NU Energies, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, received the letter of award (LoA) as it emerged as the largest winner in India’s first 1500 MW / 6000 MWh firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) ISTS tender, issued by SJVN .
The company secured 750 MW / 3,000 MWh, marking the biggest share of allocation. The FDRE tender is pivotal in advancing round-the-clock renewable power supply through hybrid and storage solutions, with the auction oversubscribed 3.3 times. Reliance Power now holds the largest solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio in India, exceeding four GWp in solar and 6.5 GWh in BESS.
This achievement underscores the Group’s rapid growth and its commitment to India’s energy transition and decarbonization goals. The hybrid configuration will include solar and BESS, offering peaking power to DISCOMs at a competitive Rs 6.74 per kWh.
