Reliance Retail Ventures (RRVL) has announced the acquisition of Kelvinator, the iconic home appliances brand, in a strategic move to bolster its presence in India’s consumer durables segment. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kelvinator, globally recognised for pioneering electric refrigeration technology, became a household name in India. The brand continues to enjoy a reputation for quality and innovation built over a century. The acquisition aligns with Reliance Retail’s broader strategy to expand its home appliances offerings using its vast network of 19,340 stores and digital channels.

Reliance Retail operates across grocery, consumer electronics, fashion, lifestyle, and pharmaceuticals, partnering with over three million merchants via its New Commerce initiative. The acquisition positions Reliance to accelerate growth in premium home appliances, leveraging Kelvinator’s strong brand equity in India.
