Resurgent Power Ventures is nearing full commissioning of the NRSS XXXVI interstate transmission system it acquired from Essel Infraprojects.
The project, overseen by NRSS XXXVI Transmission, is in its final stages as per the Central Electricity Authority. The key pending element is the 77 ckm, 400kV double-circuit line from Koteshwar Pooling Station to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, which faced significant delays due to right-of-way and forest clearance issues. As of August 2025, tower erection is largely complete, but stringing work lags due to pending tree-cutting permissions. Additionally, two 400kV line bays at Rishikesh await clearance from the state utility PTCUL.
Originally awarded to Essel in 2016 with a 2019 deadline, the project stalled amid Essel’s financial troubles. PTC India Financial Services then appointed Resurgent Power Ventures in late 2021 to revive and complete the scheme.
