The long-awaited Rs 252-crore flyover project in the Mango area of Jamshedpur has gained significant momentum, bringing relief to thousands of commuters grappling with daily traffic snarls. Located near Blue Bells School on Dimna Road, the flyover is expected to ease congestion and enhance urban connectivity in the steel city.
“This flyover is a lifeline for the people of Mango and surrounding areas,” said local resident Ramesh Singh. “This development will change that reality.” The four-lane structure, built on 57 pillars, will facilitate smooth two-way traffic. Forty-nine pillars have been completed, with rapid progress on the remaining.
The project stands out for its use of advanced engineering and equipment, including a girder launching machine worth Rs 9.5 crore, capable of lifting 125-tonne girders. Over Rs 30 crore has been invested in machinery, with Rs 4.5 crore allocated for piling equipment alone.
Simultaneously, another flyover on New Purulia Road has been upgraded from a one-way to a two-way structure, following intervention by local MLA Saryu Roy to better suit commuter needs. Together, both projects represent a leap forward in Jamshedpur’s urban infrastructure.
