A new bridge will be constructed across the Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs 430 crore, following administrative approval granted by the state government on 24 July, 2025.
The bridge will connect Bengaluru National Highway and Chintalmet Road, and the project will be executed under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode. The Musi Riverfront Development Corporation (MRDCL) has been designated to carry out the project under the supervision of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department.
MRDCL will initiate the tendering process for EPC contracts while the land acquisition process runs concurrently. Although some land is still being acquired, the government plans to advance construction activities in tandem. To ensure quality and timely execution, a project management consultancy (PMC) agency will be selected through a competitive bidding process.
This agency will be responsible for supervision, quality assurance, and independent audit of the construction works. Additionally, the technical designs and drawings submitted by the EPC contractor will undergo rigorous scrutiny and must be cleared by a reputed technical institute, such as JNTU-Hyderabad, with final approval from the appointed PMC agency.
