SLMG Beverages, one of the bottling partners of beverage major Coca-Cola India has opened a new facility in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. The new bottling facility was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the presence of Union Minister, Smriti Irani on 31 October, 2023.
SLMG plans to invest about Rs 700 crore in the plant at Trishundi, equipped with six lines which will produce beverages in the sparkling, juices, and water categories. The plant has a line that produces affordable small sparkling pack (ASSP), which has been specifically introduced for India and boasts a plastic reduction of approx. 35 percent in the 250 ml pack.
The facility will create a total direct and indirect employment for nearly 650 people in the area, while also providing 2,000 indirect jobs in the regions benefiting the local population. The investments is seen by the company as advancing its goal of expanding capacities, and widening reach to consumers across the region.
Coca-Cola India has 13 bottling partners in India, which operates about 40 bottling plants in the country, along with its own bottling arm Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB). Currently, SLMG Beverages has seven plants across Uttar Pradesh, with capacity of more than four crore bottles per day.
