Shakti Pumps (India) has secured a letter of award (LoA) from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for the supply and installation of 4,500 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra. This project is part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Component-B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme.
The total contract value is approx. Rs. 114.58 crore, inclusive of GST. Under the agreement, Shakti Pumps will be responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the systems. The execution of the contract must be completed within 90 days from the issuance of the work order.
This development strengthens Shakti Pumps’ position as a key player in India’s solar-powered irrigation infrastructure and highlights its commitment to promoting clean and sustainable energy solutions for the agricultural sector. The project aligns with the government’s focus on decentralised renewable energy solutions to benefit farmers and improve irrigation efficiency in rural regions.
