New Delhi-based Shivalaya Construction is set to debut in the power transmission sector, marking a significant diversification from its established presence in roads and highways.
The infrastructure EPC and annuity company has been issued the letter of intent (LoI) for the Ananthapuram-II Power Transmission project, part of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme. The LoI was granted by REC Power Development & Consultancy (RECPDCL) on 23 September, 2025. Following necessary approvals from the Union Power Ministry, the formal transfer of the project’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) is expected by mid-October. Shivalaya reportedly secured the project with a winning tariff of around Rs 3,200 million per year, in the e-reverse auction stage.
The transmission project, located in Andhra Pradesh, carries an estimated investment of Rs 3,300 crore and aims for completion in 24–30 months. Major works include a new 765/400kV CN’Halli substation and upgrades at the Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station.
