The process of shortlisting of EoIs for
the development of the Gangavaram port in Andhra Pradesh, would be delayed by a
month due to the shortcomings in the bid documents submitted by the bidders.
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd
(APIIC), the nodal agency for the development of the port project, has stated
that most of the bidders have not furnished complete support documents
necessary to prove that they met the broad eligibility criteria prescribed by the
state government. As a result, the process of shortlisting the 10 EoIs bids received
by APIIC, would get delayed by a month. The process, which was to get over
by the end of November 2001, would now be over only by the first week of January
2002.
The project envisages development, implementation and
operation of the greenfield Gangavaram minor port in the state, on commercial
format, with private sector participation.
