Sigachi Industries, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical excipients and specialty ingredients, has secured environmental clearance (EC) from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Gujarat. This approval enables the company to proceed with establishing a greenfield manufacturing facility at Dahej SEZ in Bharuch, representing one of its largest capacity expansions to date.
The new plant is strategically located within the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to promote export growth, enhance operational flexibility, and ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards in both regulated and semi-regulated markets. With an installed production capacity of 3,120 MT per month, the facility will manufacture a broad portfolio of cellulose and starch-based specialised excipients, alongside other high-value functional ingredients. These products will serve pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food-grade markets, helping Sigachi tap into high-margin and fast-growing global segments.
The project in Dahej is expected to accelerate the company’s global expansion goals while bolstering its production capabilities and regulatory readiness for global supply chains. With this move, Sigachi positions itself at the forefront of India’s pharmaceutical manufacturing aims, aligning with the nation’s broader “Make in India” and export-oriented growth strategies.
