Somi Conveyor Beltings has secured orders totalling Rs 48.64-crore, with the first valued at Rs 47.80 crore from Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) for the supply of 24,300 mtrs. of steel cord conveyor belts. This marks a key achievement for the company, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the industrial conveyor belt manufacturing sector in India.
The contract involves the supply of 2,000 mm-wide, ST-3150 grade steel cord conveyor belts, with specifications including 7.6 mm diameter cords, 130 number of cords (NOC), and a cover thickness of 14 mm on top and 10 mm on the bottom, conforming to Grade DIN-X standards. The belts are priced at a unit rate of Rs 19,672.89 per metre, resulting in a total purchase order (PO) value of Rs 4,780.51 lakh for the full 24,300-mtrs. quantity. The delivery and execution period for the order is set at seven to eight months from the date of purchase order acceptance.
The company has secured also secured an order worth Rs 84.03 lakh from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. for the supply of 3,750 mtrs. of conveyor belt. The execution timeline for the order is three to six months from the date of purchase order (PO) acceptance, aligning with standard delivery schedules for specialised conveyor solutions. The belts are expected to support efficient material handling operations within the state-run power generation facilities.
