Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget, a Nasdaq-listed hygiene products company, is planning to re-enter India by setting up a greenfield manufacturing facility.
The company is setting up a unit at Ranjangaon MIDC near Pune in Maharashtra. The project, estimated to cost Rs 145 crore, is expected to be operational by 2015.
In India, SCA will operate in three business categories - existing (baby hygiene products like diapers, baby soap, baby shampoo, baby oil etc), emerging (tissue paper used in institutions like corporate offices, hotels and restaurants) and nascent.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to acquire Indian firms.
In 2009, the company had terminated its JV with Godrej Consumer Products.
