Independent renewable energy power producers Juniper Green Energy and Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) have emerged as successful bidders in Tata Power’s recent auction.
The auction was conducted for the development and procurement of 225 MW of grid-connected intrastate and interstate wind-solar hybrid power projects. It also entails a greenshoe option to procure 225 MW on a long-term basis. Juniper Green Energy has bagged 75 MW while TPREL bagged 150 MW under the bucket-filling method. The tender for the hybrid projects was issued in June, 2023.
The successful bidders will now enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years from the commissioning date. Also, Tata Power has mandated the use of solar modules as per the approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
In June, TPREL had commissioned a 110 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, for the supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).
