TRUMPF, a global leader in industrial machine tools and laser technology, has inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India at Nighoje, Pune in Maharashtra.
Stephan Mayer, CEO of Machine Tools and Member of the Management Board at TRUMPF Germany, stated, "This new manufacturing unit in Pune is an investment in India’s future as a global manufacturing hub." The facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s localisation strategy aimed at serving India’s growing industrial market more efficiently.
Initially, the plant will manufacture the TruBend 1000 series bending machines, with plans to begin localised production of the TruLaser 1000 series by 2025. The move is expected to boost supply chain agility, reduce lead times, and offer advanced sheet metal processing systems tailored for Indian industry needs. TRUMPF India Managing Director Pradeep Patil noted, "By 2025, all operations at the new plant—including assembly, testing, quality assurance, and logistics—will be fully functional. This is a proud moment for our entire India team."
The company has invested over euro five million (approx. Rs 45 crore) in India to support the country’s manufacturing ecosystem and position itself as a key local manufacturing partner.
